AB InBev Beverage Plant Flooring
Gunning & Son specified a Stonclad UT polyurethane HACCP system for AB InBev's Mozambican beverage plant and supported the applicator to deliver a seamless, wash-down-ready floor. The finished surface supports ongoing beverage production.
Location: Mozambique

Project Overview
For AB InBev’s beverage manufacturing facility in Mozambique, Gunning & Son specified a Stonclad UT polyurethane HACCP flooring system and worked with the applicator to deliver it. The system was selected for its density and chemical resistance in an environment of constant moisture, spillage and mechanical traffic.
The finished floor gives the plant a seamless, hygienic surface that withstands wash-down and production loading while removing the joints and cracks that harbour contamination. The result is a working floor that is easier to clean and better suited to sustained beverage output.

Scope of Work
Gunning & Son’s role covered recommending the right system for the production environment and supporting its delivery, planned around the facility’s operating needs so work could progress without shutting the plant down entirely. Installation was carried out by the applicator.
Assessment of the production conditions and substrate
Recommendation and specification of the Stonclad UT polyurethane HACCP system
Guidance on coving and drainage detailing for hygienic wash-down
Technical support to the applicator and sign-off of the completed surface

Site Conditions & Challenges
Beverage production combines standing liquid, sugars and aggressive cleaning with heavy pallet and vehicle movement, all of which attack a floor at its joints and surface. Delivering the work inside an operating facility meant coordinating access so that individual zones could be taken out of use and returned without halting the wider plant. The condition and moisture content of the existing substrate also had to be verified before a seamless system was installed over it.

Our Approach
Gunning & Son assessed the environment and recommended Stonclad UT for its resistance to the plant’s wet-process conditions, specifying coving and falls to carry liquid to drainage and close the wall-to-floor junction against contamination. Working alongside the applicator, the company provided product and technical guidance so each section was installed as specified and cured within its access window before being handed back. This kept production moving elsewhere in the facility while the floor was progressively renewed.
Recommended a polyurethane system with hygienic coving and drainage falls and guided the applicator through a phased install.

Results Delivered
AB InBev received a seamless polyurethane floor built to take continuous wet-process conditions and mechanical traffic without failing at joints or edges. The hygienic finish supports the facility’s cleaning routine and lowers ongoing maintenance compared with jointed floor types, giving a durable base for ongoing beverage production.
